Mawson Trail

Tanunda means “water hole” in Australian aboriginal tongue. The town, was once a part of Bethanien in 1800’s, is now a part of Barossa Valley which is located 70 kilometres away on the east side Adelaide, Australia. Residents on the area are mostly Prussians that are practicing German culture. There are lots of things to do while in Tanunda, here is some of it.

the most popular activity to do in the area is trekking and biking. There are several walking trail around the area. Such walking trails, like Heysen Walking Trail, stretches at over 1,000 km. For biking, one should try the 8km path of Mawson Cycling Trail stretching from Linear Park through Flinders Ranges.

Trekking and biking are the most famous things to do in the area. There are areas that feature walking and cycling such as Heysen Walking Trail and Mawson Cycling Trail. Heysen Walking Trail is a 1200 km-walk from Parachilna Gorge to Fleurieu Peninsula. On the other hand, Mawson Cycling Trail is perfect for bikers who favors biking in long distance along rural spots. The cycling path is more than 8 kms long starting from Torrens Linear Park down to Flinders Ranges.
